Cloning a connection

To save time retyping connection details, you create a new connection by cloning a previous connection. You can clone any connection except active connections to Microsoft Azure and any connections in a pending status (either pending connect or pending disconnect.) Cloning a previously unsuccessful connection allows you to change details for the connection to resolve issues that may have caused the connection to fail.

To clone a connection:

  1. From the main menu, select Orders > Dynamic Connections.

MyLevel3 lists all your connections with a status and brief summary for each connection.
  1. Search for the connection you want to clone. (Remember that you can clone any connection except active connections to Microsoft Azure and any connections in pending status—either pending connect or pending disconnect.)

  2. When you find the connection, do one of the following:

    • In the Actions column for the connection, click the gear icon () , then click Clone.

    • Click the row for the connection, then click Clone.
  1. Verify the connection type(s), origination (From Location) and termination (To Location) locations, bandwidth, and connection name. Make any changes you need to make, then click Next. (You'll need to re-enter VLAN information to prevent duplicating a VLAN ID from active connection.)
  1.  Review the configuration for the origination point (From Location) and make any changes you need to make, then click Next.
  1.  Review the configuration for the termination point (To Location) and make any changes you need to make, then click Next.
  1. Review the connection summary. If everything looks correct, read through terms and conditions, click the I agree with the terms and conditions checkbox, then click Create Connection.

MyLevel3 creates the connection using the information you provided. You can now view the status of the connection.
