Managing your SD-WAN service

As part of your CenturyLink® SD-WAN service, you can check your view/manage invoices, create repair tickets, view repair ticket status in Control Center. You can also access the SD-WAN Director portal to configure, monitor, and manage your service.

Viewing a list of your SD-WAN services (inventory)

You can view your SD-WAN inventory for service information, including circuit details.

To view you SD-WAN inventory:

  1. To find your SD-WAN service, you can search for it in various ways:

    • Sort your services using the Sort by… list (e.g., Account Number). You can change toggle between descending and ascending order using the arrow to the right of the Sort by… list.

    • Filter your services selecting an option from the View All (Default)… list.

    • Search for your service (by service type, account, etc.) using the Search by… field and search box. (To search using multiple search criteria, click Advanced Search, then fill in your search criteria and click Apply Search Filters. When you're done, click Close Advanced Search.)

  2. To view details for the service, click the service ID or click the green arrow on the far right of the line for the service.

    Control Center displays the details for the service.

For the service, you'll see the following details:
 

  • Service ID: the service ID/inventory number for the service.
    • SDWP = Primary device
    • SDWB = Backup device (if you've purchased high-availability service)
  • Appliance Name: tthe appliance name in the SD-WAN Director portal
  • SD WAN Director-Primary: the main director controller pair for the service
  • SD WAN Director-Secondary: the backup director controller pair for the service
  • Plan type (Basic or Premium):  the plan you purchased for the service:
Basic package

Basic includes all components for building a private network between locations:

Premium package

Premium includes all basic features, plus:

  • パフォーマンス調整
  • Security package (Yes or No): whether you've purchased the optional security package with intrusion prevention and URL filtering.

You can add (or change) a custom name for the service (e.g., Store #1410). Follow the instructions above to locate the service. Once you're viewing the details for the service, click the Details accordion, click Edit Custom Name, type (or change) the custom name, then click Save.

Creating and managing repair tickets for SD-WAN service

To create a repair ticket for SD-WAN, the process is the same as if you were creating any new repair ticket. If you don't know the service ID, you can search for the service (using the instructions above), then click the Repair aren't certain about the exact service ID/UNI, you can search for it by clicking Search for the Service/Product ID, select Metro Ethernet from the Service Type list, then click Look Up. Complete the remainder of the ticket as normal. 


If you don't have permission to manage SD-WAN for your company, you won't be able to submit a repair ticket for the service. If you need to be able to manage this service, contact your system administrator and request your permissions be changed.


You can also monitor your repair tickets and keep current with their status and set up alerts for changes in status.

Monitoring and managing your SD-WAN service

In addition to the SD-WAN Director portal, Control Center offers tools to give you quick info on network problems. For instance, with the network map, you can immediately determine if there are problems, and where they're located. Green dots mean all is well; red triangles with exclamation marks indicate there are open tickets and possible problems for the areas marked. This tool is usually, by default, displayed on your Control Center dashboard. If you're not immediately seeing it, it could be because it's minimized or needs to be re-added to your page.
